Dr. Jeff Brown, DC, CPC

My professional education includes a B.S. in kinesiology from Michigan State University, a D.C. from Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic with highest honors, and certification as a professional coder through the American Academy of Professional Coders. 

I have work experience spanning several key practice positions including owner, associate doctor, CA, and insurance biller.  My first practice  was 100% cash and I quickly came to the conclusion insurance reimbursement was essential to increased collections.  However, I knew virtually nothing about the insurance arena and feared the unknown.  Looking for answers, I began questioning fellow chiropractors and later turned to coding books and guidelines.  What I discovered was an overall lack of understanding among chiropractors and a significant disconnect between chiropractic business and insurance coding principles. 

My position with ACOM affords me the opportunity to bridge this gap of understanding that currently exists by teaching proper documentation and coding to individual chiropractors and their staff.
