Because healthcare is a highly monitored and regulated field, doctors are subject to compliance and reporting regulations from every level of government and as a consequence, comprehensive and accurate records are essential.
Now, the need for timely and accurate records is about to grow significantly with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Our intention is to follow the development of the new certification rules closely and make sure that our doctors will be among the first to qualify for the bonus payments under the Medicare and Medicaid programs.
One of the key things doctors must understand, is that the bonuses are paid on a basis of the prior year’s Medicaid or Medicaid billings. Bonus payments commence in 2011, so it is important that doctors make sure that they have their certified system in place as soon as possible in order to begin assembling the data that will qualify them for the bonus payments.
